Located next to Yorktown Center Mall, Claim Jumper is known to portray western feels with their polished wood tables, tree bark chairs, and antler chandeliers. The children always get a kick out of this family restaurant!
Dating back to 1977, the first Claim Jumper was built in Los Alamitos, California. Carl and Craig Nickoloff were father and son business partners. The duo would lead the 250 seat restaurant with over-generous portion sizes and great food. The family loved Western movies and came up with the name Claim Jumper after watching some.
Who Is The Founder Of Claim Jumper Restaurants?
Carl and Craig Nickoloff had massive success with the first Claim Jumper restaurant. The two founders never thought that their family business would become a chain. The Nickoloff family then built 4 more restaurants located in Orange County, California.
Interestingly enough, Craig Nickoloff is a third generation restaurateur as his grandfather owned a coffee shop in Long Beach. This is where Craig started washing dishes and learned the ropes from his grandfather, Nicholas Nickoloff.

My Claim Jumper Restaurant Review in Lombard, IL
I personally visited Claim Jumper when looking for a casual place to dine. Taking my spouse there for the first time was a lovely experience as it gave me a family home vibe. The western country aesthetics made me want to order a nice juicy steak with vegetables on the side. Staff were kind and the food did not take long to arrive. By now, we have visited Claim Jumper several times and continue to have excellent experiences.
