Fried Rice

Fried rice is a delicious and versatile dish that's perfect for using up leftover rice. This classic Chinese recipe features stir-fried rice mixed with a variety of vegetables, eggs, and proteins for a satisfying meal that's quick and easy to make.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups cooked rice
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • ¾ cup diced onion
  • 1 cup diced carrots
  • 1 cup frozen peas thawed
  • 2-3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2-3 eggs beaten
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Heat one tablespoon of your favorite oil in a largly-sized skillet over medium-high heat on the stovetop. Add beaten eggs and scramble until cooked. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  2. Add the remaining oil to the skillet and add the onions and carrots. Cook until tender, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic and cook on medium heat for one minute.
  4. Add the rice and stir to combine with the vegetables.
  5. Stir in the peas and cooked eggs.
  6. Add the soy sauce and oyster sauce (if used) and combine. Cook for a few more minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Serve hot, and enjoy!
