Tweet Chicago Review

Tweet restaurant review in Uptown Chicago banner

Tweet is a casual American eatery that offers an extensive gluten-free menu and has great service. The Uptown restaurant was established in 2003 inside a vintage art-decorated building. Serving non-traditional dishes, many locals love the organic-based techniques to make food. Explore the Uptown area, and stop by this hidden restaurant gem.

Experience the interior of Tweet, which artist Zuleyka Benitez designed. You’ll also see collection favorites by founder Michelle Fire and food recommendations on the menu. It’s important for the Tweet restaurant to convey an atmosphere where you can interact with their food with smells, tastes, and more. No matter if you’re looking for breakfast or lunch, Tweet in Uptown is worth the try!

Dine at Tweet in Uptown at 5020 N Sheridan Rd, Chicago, IL. For availability, phone 773-728-5576 to get in contact with the front desk.

Big Chicks

Big Chicks was the original sister restaurant to Tweet, and the classic bar was transformed by visionary Michelle Fire. It was challenging, she says, as she had to cater to the World War II veterans who frequented the bar at first. After she bought the establishment in 1986, she renovated and transformed the atmosphere to represent a gay bar. Michelle was known to make food on Sundays and feed the vets. Eventually, things changed drastically inside the bar, such as covering the walls with big paintings and murals of women.

This drove many clients away but also brought forth a new kind of generation. Michelle Fire furthered this goal by reciting her original tagline, which is “men and men, women and women, and women and men”. You can find more details about this story on their bon appetit feature. All this hard work inspired Michelle to open another restaurant, Tweet.
