  • 1 lb fresh lump crabmeat picked over for shells
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 green onions thinly sliced
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley chopped
  • ¼ cup red bell pepper chopped
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil for frying

Method
 

  1. In a large bowl, quickly whisk together the mayonnaise, egg, dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce.

  3. Gently fold in the crabmeat, being careful not to overmix.
  4. Form the mixture into 8-10 patties, about 2-3 inches in diameter.
  5. Heat the vegetable oil in a large-sized skillet over medium-high heat.
  6. Carefully add the crab cakes to the skillet and cook lightly until golden brown and crispy, about 4 minutes per side.
  7. Remove the crab cakes from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
  8. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce, and enjoy!
