Ingredients
  

Filling
  • 8 apples cut into chunks
  • ½ cup light brown sugar packed
  • ¼ cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp ground nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp salt
Topping
  • ¾ cup all purpose flour
  • ¾ cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup unsalted butter cubed
  • 1 cup old fashioned oats

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 4 quart baking dish.
  2. Mix in a large bowl the apples, light brown sugar, flour, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Spread onto baking dish.
  3. Whisk the topping ingredients together in a bowl. Add in the butter and fork until mixture is crumbly. Stir in oats last.
  4. Bake for 50 minutes or until the top is golden brown. Remove from oven, place on a wire rack, and cool for 5 minutes.
  5. Serve with salted caramel or vanilla ice cream. May store for up to 5 days.
