Is Quinoa Gluten Free?

Quinoa is a powerful grain substitute that is, in fact, gluten-free! Many health-conscious individuals use this seed for higher amounts of antioxidants, and are more dense than other grains. Quinoa is considered to have all nine amino acids that classifies it as a protein. Try this ingredient for a healthy alternative to burgers, soups, and stir-fry.
I love using quinoa for various reasons, including its nutrient value. The gluten-free grain contains Iron, Vitamin B, Potassium, Calcium, Fiber, and more. Take a look at our list of foods you can create with quinoa:

Is Quinoa Gluten Anti-inflammatory?

Since quinoa is considered a whole grain, it is also known to have anti-inflammatory properties. The importance of having these compounds is significant for those suffering from chronic inflammation. While quinoa is not the only solution, it’s still a good source of fiber and other minerals. Consult with a healthcare professional to find a personalized approach for your needs.

Which Grains Are Gluten-Free?

There are a few grains besides quinoa that are naturally gluten-free! I must remind the readers that if you have celiac disease, you must ensure the grains are sourced from a well-known supplier. Take a gander at our list of gluten-free grains below.

Rice

One of the most popular options is rice; whether white, brown, or wild, rice is a perfect example of a gluten-free grain.

Buckwheat

Originated in Central Asia, buckwheat is used to make pancakes, porridge, and the seeds are usually grounded into flour.

Amaranth

Amaranth is rich in protein and has dietary fiber added to stews for an earthy flavor.

Millet

Millet is one of the oldest cultivated grains from Africa. There are a few varieties that are all gluten-free such as pearl, finger, foxtail, and proso. It’s commonly used for baked items.

Corn

Corn is one of America’s most popular crops. It is used in various circumstances, including tortillas, popcorn, cornbread, and more.
