Bar Parisette Opens in Logan Square

Chicago's Logan Square is now home to Bar Parisette, a new bar and restaurant that opened on June 28th. The establishment, led by industry veterans Matt Sussman and chef Madalyn Durrant, brings a taste of France with a Midwestern twist. Bar Parisette offers a unique approach to French cuisine, with a emphasis on seasonal ingredients and rare wines, all served in a welcoming atmosphere that's sure to delight food enthusiasts and those interested in French cuisine.

Influenced by Parisian "bistrots a vin," Bar Parisette provides a modern take on the classic bistro. Chef Durrant's vegetable-forward menu, which incorporates her Midwestern perspective while also featuring French classics, is designed to be adaptable for dietary restrictions. The emphasis is on local produce, drawing inspiration from lesser-known French regions such as Jura and Franche-Comte.

Bar Manager Matt Sussman curates an exciting wine selection, including hard-to-find bottles and Old World staples typical of Parisian bistros, as well as a small selection of American wines chosen to complement the seasonal Midwestern cuisine.

Beverage Director Diana Benanti enhances the dining experience with a creative cocktail program, offering intriguing creations like the Cigarette Pants Martini and the Delulu Lemonade made with yuzu and elderflower, inspired by classic cocktails and infused with fresh flavors.

Bar Parisette aims to create a welcoming atmosphere, aspiring to become a neighborhood gathering spot reminiscent of Old World cafes. With its focus on high-quality ingredients, approachable menus, and a strong commitment to making the world of wine more accessible, Bar Parisette seems ready to become a favorite in Logan Square.
